Installation Configuration

Installation Requirements

To guarantee the optimal operation of VisualRadioAssist Server Software, the environment (server, computer or VM) should meet one of the following basic requirements:

Type Requirement
Hardware Windows 10 (64 bit)
Hardware Minimaal Intel I5 (7th gen) or Intel I7 (6th gen) processor
Hardware Processor with support for Intel HD Graphics 630 or higher, or dedicated video card
Hardware Minimum of 8 GB RAM memory
Network Internet connection with minimum 5 mbit dedicated bandwidth
Network Network Whitelist *.visualradioassist.live FQDN's / ip address 136.144.210.159
Network VLAN for entire Visual Radio Assist environment*
Network Windows SMB/UNC connection for exchange AutomationLink data**

* Not required ** Look at AutomationLink Docs for more information and the validity of this requirement per radio automation software.

MICAssist

If the MICAssist is active, multiple microphone source signals are connected to the server. In this situation, the following requirements apply to the VisualRadioAssist configuration:

Input sound card

Every microphone must receive her own recording channel (left / right or both / stereo) within Windows. This means that at least a "half sound card channel" should be used for every studio microphone. Regulate this via Windows > Configuration screen -> Sound -> Recording

{info} Example 1:
MICAssist should trigger 2 microphones. These 2 microphones are connected as independent channels to the entries of sound card "SCC".
MICAssist uses 1 sound card SCC L for microphone 1 and 1 sound card SCC R for microphone 2.

Audio level

The audio level for the different MICAssisten microphone channels must be at least -6db or higher. These values are manageable when the microphones are connected properly. With a software, like Audacity, you are able to record software as microphone sound without extra amplification.

{warning} If the microphone audio levels do not meet the requirement, the Server Software Installation does not continue. Next to this, the warranty expires for the operation of the software.
