Scheduling

Scheduling is the calendar of your station: every show is a program with a start, an end, a description, an image and its presenters. VRA always knows which program is on air, and the rest of VRA can follow it. An Output can show the program’s own graphics, and a trigger can pick another shot for another show. You plan programs in Scheduling → Calendar and keep the people behind the mics in Scheduling → Presenters.

How Scheduling works

1. Add your presenters once, with a name and a photo
2. Create a program per show in the calendar, weekly or monthly when it comes back
3. Link the presenters to the program, and each presenter to their mic
4. Use the on-air program in your Outputs, audio triggers and automations
5. Plan a different week, like a holiday, with a scheduling override

Key concepts in Scheduling

Program - One show in the calendar. A program is on air from its start to its end, unless it is disabled. Recurring program - A program that comes back every week or every month. It is one program: an edit changes every occurrence. Presenter - A person on your station, with a name and a photo. A presenter on a program is a Host or a Guest. Main scheduling - The schedule your station runs every week. Scheduling override - A copy of the schedule for a day, a week or any dates you pick. Scheduling limitations

• Scheduling does not repeat a program every day. Recurring programs repeat every week or every month, so a daily show is a weekly program on the days it airs.
• Scheduling does not delete one occurrence of a recurring program. Deleting the program removes every occurrence. To skip one day, use a scheduling override.
• Scheduling does not set an end date on a recurring program. Delete or disable it when the show stops.
• A program is at least 60 seconds long.
