Visual cannot be saved in this state, check required fields.
The Visual Designer saves a visual only with a name of at least 2 characters and at least one layer. Add a layer and give the visual a name, then save again. When Save shows Locked for edit, the visual is locked. See Lock resources.A saved visual doesn’t change on air
The Visual Designer updates every output that shows the visual right away when you save. When it doesn’t change:- The visual is not saved. Check Saved in the header, then save.
- The output shows another visual. Check which visual the rundown or scene plays.
Live data in a visual stays empty
A text layer with live data shows nothing, or its fallback, when the data has no value.- Nothing is on air for that field. A track field is empty between tracks, a program field when no program is scheduled. Add a fallback with Fallback content.
- The data is not connected. Track data needs radio automation data, program data needs Scheduling.
- The field no longer exists. A chip shows Variable Not Found when its variable was deleted. Insert the field again with Insert data.
A layer doesn’t follow a brand color or text style change
The layer is no longer linked.- A color picked by hand unlinks the layer from its brand color. Click the brand color swatch again, see Brand colors.
- A text layer set to Custom does not follow a text style. Pick the style under Style again, see Text styles.
- A style marked Overridden is restyled by the station’s custom CSS. Change or remove that CSS.
Fix the JavaScript to edit animations
The JS of the visual has an error on the line in the message. The timeline keeps the last animations visible, but you can’t edit them until the line is fixed. Open the Code editor and fix that line. The visual can still be saved. An animation can’t be changed on the timeline
- The animation has a Code only badge. The code uses something the timeline can’t change safely. Use Edit in code.
- The visual shows Old animations. Convert them first with Convert animations, see Animations.
- The layer is a Bodymovin layer. Its markers set the animation. You can only move its start on the timeline, see Bodymovin / Lottie animation layer.
The output removes this visual before the animation ends
The Length of the Out is shorter than its animations, so the output takes the visual off before they finish. Drag the length marker on the timeline, or click the end time in the timeline toolbar and set a longer Length.A font looks wrong in a visual
- The font is not active. Turn on Active for the font at Settings → Outputs → Fonts.
- The weight is missing. Upload the file for that weight, see Use your custom font.
- A Photoshop import or Bodymovin file uses a font the station doesn’t have. Upload it, or pick another font in the layer.
